We invite expecting parents to schedule a complimentary "greet and meet" appointment with one or more pediatricians. This is an informal visit where you can get a feel for the clinic as well as the individual physician's personality and medical care philosophy. Feel free to prepare questions in advance.
If you are delivering your baby at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Edmonds, please tell the admitting nurse the name of your pediatrician. They will notify us of the happy news and the pediatrician will come to the hospital to examine your newborn typically within 24 hours of his or her birth. If your pediatrician is unavailable, the on-call physician from the Children's Clinic will be there to examine your baby. Our doctors typically will examine your newborn each day he or she is in the hospital.
If your baby is born at a different hospital, the on-call pediatrician on staff at the hospital will examine your newborn. Please inform the doctor or nurse that you plan to follow up at the Children's Clinic and give them the name of your pediatrician. This will ensure that we receive your newborn's medical records in a timely manner.
Our doctors would like to examine your newborn at our clinic within 48-72 hours after you return home. We believe this is a critical period for us to evaluate your baby for weight gain, feeding, and jaundice, as well as to begin partnering with you in caring for your child.
In order to make your experience a positive one, the following are some policies and guidelines that may help us meet your needs quickly and smoothly.
