Unexpected medical expenses are difficult. Here are some suggestions to avoid them:

  • For a problem-oriented visit, please bring a list of the concerns you would like to address. We want to cover the concerns that are most important to you and your health, but we may not have the time to thoroughly evaluate them all in a single visit. Your provider will review your list with you. Together, you will decide which concerns should be covered at that visit and which could be deferred to a later visit.
  • When you bring your child in for a Well Child Exam, we must bill your insurance carrier for a preventative visit as stated by federal coding laws. If during that visit you have additional concerns, or want your child checked for other conditions that require a diagnosis/treatment, you may incur additional office and/or lab charges. These charges, as well as the charges from your child's preventative care exam, will be billed to your insurance company. If your insurance does not cover some or all of these additional charges you may be billed directly for the balance. Please do not ask us to re-bill your insurance by changing the procedure or diagnosis code. By asking your provider to do this, you are asking him/her to commit insurance fraud and it may jeopardize his/her medical license. Your child's Well Child Exam is important whether it is a covered benefit or not. Please be aware of your insurance coverage and benefits. If you have any questions, please call our Business Office Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
  • We expect to receive payment for medical services rendered for your child. Please call the business office if you are having difficulties meeting this obligation. If payment is not received in a timely manner, your account may be sent to a collection agency. If this occurs twice, this may unfortunately lead to termination of care from the practice. This is a situation we would like to avoid if at all possible.
  • Please inform us of any changes in your insurance, address and telephone numbers when you arrive for your appointment.
